Help Put Food on the Table
Each week Servant’s Heart Ministry lovingly delivers nourishing food to those who don’t have the resources to put food on their table. This requires a caring crew of volunteers to sort, prepare, pack and distribute food weekly. You could be a part of this lively group of workers who serve to enrich the lives of others.

Ways to Volunteer
Food Packers
The bulk food we receive needs to be divided for individual families. This job includes inspecting and sorting produce, meat packages, eggs, baked goods and non-perishable staple items. Think of it as an assembly line putting together packages of life-giving food! You can come on your own, and there will be a place for you to jump in. Or you can bring a team! Help educate and empower your church, school, business or friends about this vital need, and work side-by-side to make a difference.
Food Delivery
Getting this nutritious food delivered to those in need takes help, too! We call these volunteers, who transport packed food in vehicles of all shapes and sizes, Community Partners.
Along with food, Community Partners deliver hope and encouragement through warmth and compassion. Because they deliver to the same people every week, they get to know the recipients. They may become aware of other needs, whether physical, emotional or spiritual.
Although food is our main focus, we have a Resource Manager that assists with other needs as well. Community Partners must have a schedule that allows for 1-2 hours free on either Thursday or Friday mornings and commit to serving weekly.
Dock Support
Food Unloading
These volunteers help with unloading groceries from the box truck into the warehouse. They also sort frozen items into freezers, and cold items into coolers. Nonperishable goods are distributed into labeled boxes. This role requires lifting up to 20 pounds without heavy equipment.
Food Loading
Each week Community Partners arrive at the dock to pick up food for delivery. The food loading workers combine the various food components that have been packed by the Food Packers, into boxes and supply the number requested to each driver. These volunteers will be lifting 30 lbs or more.
